What is glass edging?

Glass edging is an edging process that performs secondary processing on the four edges and corners of the cut glass by manual or mechanical methods.

 

Purpose of glass edging

  • Grind off the four edges and corners caused by cutting to prevent injury during use.
  • The small cracks and micro-cracks formed by cutting on the edge of the glass are ground away to eliminate local stress concentration and increase the strength of the glass.
  • Glass edging will reduce the occurrence of glass broken in the tempering furnace.
  • The geometric shape and dimensional tolerance of the glass after edging meet the requirements.
  • Different grades of quality processing are performed on the glass edge, that is, rough edging, fine edging and polishing.

Detection table has an efficient and accurate inspection system. The inspection system adopts PLC control system to measure the length, width and thickness of glass at one time. After the flat glass is placed on the detection table, the No. 1 glass double edger machine and No. 2 glass double edger machine receive the parameters of the detection table, and automatically adjust the width of the opening and closing, which can save the machine adjustment time. What’s glass shape edging machine?

Glass shape edging machine mainly deals with the edging and polishing of glass special-shaped edges, which belongs to a kind of glass edging machine.

How does glass shape edging machine work?

Glass shape edging machine uses vacuum to suck the glass on the suction cup, and is equipped with a motor to drive the turntable table or independently drive an independent turntable five-disc on the disk to rotate, so that the machine can process special-shaped flat glass with a rotating diameter of 700-2100mm or 100-700mm. The rotating speed of the turntable can be adjusted arbitrarily during work. This machine can also semi-automatically grind simple shaped special-shaped glass by using the air cylinder. When grinding the edges, three grinding wheels can be installed for rough, fine grinding and polishing. When grinding the bevel, install a bowl-shaped grinding wheel, tilt the grinding head backward, adjust the angle of the bevel, and grind the edge according.

Glass chamfering process

(1) Safe chamfering with a hand grinder to gently rub off the glass

(2) Rounded corners and beveled corners can be done with a chamfering machine

Poor types of glass edging

Reason: the temperature is too high due to the lack of water when the grinding wheel rubs against the glass.

Suggestion: Mind that the water supply of the edge grinder is normal.

Reason: the grinding wheel has been used for a long time and the wear is serious, resulting in a gap between the glass and the grinding wheel, and resulting in a toothed edge of the glass.

Suggestion: it is recommended to adjust the position of the grinding wheel forward, or replace the grinding wheel, or use a spark machine to repair the wheel shape.
